REFURBISHMENT

Bring back the good old days

The majority of tennis courts installed in the UK are topped with porous macadam and either fully painted with acrylic paint or left black with coloured lines. Over time, the paint and the macadam surface layer can wear to a degree that refurbishment is required.

Frequency of refurbishment will always be determined by the maintenance regime that has been in place. As a general rule though, courts require repainting every 3 to 5 years or resurfacing with new macadam course layer every 15 to 20 years.

Maintaining your court on a regular basis – for example, by deep clean pressure washing it every one or two years – means the need to respray, resurface or relay artificial grass comes around less often. Of course, other factors influence its lifespan too, like its usage, the footwear used on the surface, surrounding vegetation and general housekeeping.
