Our sports surfacing project for Branston Community Academy, Lincoln
Branston Community College, situated near Lincoln, sought assistance from Sports Surfacing Solutions following the deterioration of their extensive outdoor court facilities. The school’s three blocks of courts had become worn and were in need of significant refurbishment.
Due to budgetary constraints, the college prioritised works across the available court blocks. Two of the three blocks were selected to receive a thorough pressure wash, followed by the application of a dark blue acrylic colour coat. These courts were then carefully marked out with new lines suitable for both tennis and netball, ensuring their continued versatility for sports activities.
The third block, comprising three tennis courts, underwent a more comprehensive upgrade. This included the installation of a new 6mm open graded macadam overlay, providing a durable and high-quality playing surface. Additionally, new perimeter kerbs were fitted, and tennis socket raisers were installed to enhance the courts’ functionality and longevity. Once the groundwork was completed, these courts were finished with a distinctive US Tennis Open style colour scheme, featuring blue and green paint. Finally, the courts were re-lined specifically for tennis, ensuring they met the required standards for play.
