These two-layered rubber sports surface systems provide a comfortable, shock resistant surface on which to play the sport.
Polymeric systems conform to performance standards for most sports where safety and comfort are prioritised.
Technically speaking, they are made up of a synthetic base of styrene-butadiene rubber, usually laid by the machine to a 10mm thickness. Sprayed onto this is a 2-3mm wearing coat of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) mixed with a polyurethane binder.
This creates a surface with a high degree of shock absorbency and slip-resistance.
